I have been getting the flu vaccination for years. We are talking 20 plus years. I get it every year because of my Asthma. I have a weekend immune system so I'm considered high risk. On Monday I pulled the mother bear and took my family to the Doctor to get our flu shots. Friday night my arm was swollen, red and itchy. I called the doctor this morning telling them my symptoms, and knowing it was an allergic reaction, but they said I should come in and get it checked out. They needed to make sure it was not infected. I walk into to the office and there was a ton of patients there waiting. I panicked because I knew it was going to be a long wait, and I had all four of my kids and who knows what all these people are sick with. I called my friend and neighbor Adri to see if she could take my kids last minute and she graciously agreed. Well, yes it is an allergic reaction and I got a cortisone shot in the bum. I have never in the 20 plus years had an reaction to the flu shot. The doctor said there must of been something in the shot this year that my body reacted to, really? Stupid flu vaccination. I have pretty bad allergies anyway and have plenty of issues because of it. I was not happy this happened. I guess I would rather it be me than my children. Life is just throwing stones at us right now-geez! We can use some prayers too. Nathan is on the layoff list at work ( he has survived a million times before, but we are worried this time for various reasons). Layoffs are at the end of this month. We have been actively looking, applying and sending out resumes, but no such luck

Beware of the Flu Vaccination

We will be praying for you!
You are in my prayers, T! I am sorry about the arm. Adri told me about it at soccer on Sat. What a bummer, and so weird! I hope you are back to non-swollen, non-itchy Trinette!
Man - now you've got me scared. I get the flu shot every year too and never had a reaction! Dang girl!
You, Nathan and kids are always in our prayers - will send them up double time.
I can't believe it turned into that! I am so sorry!
Yikes! Sorry you are going through so much! We will keep you in our prayers.
Holy crud, that looks terrible! I promise you though, that it is WAY better than the flu itself. Take my word for it. Still, it looks pretty bad. I can't believe you had a reaction like that. Dang girl!
We will pray for you guys and are hoping for the best with the job. How scary.
