Spontaneous Getaway

We decided Sunday morning that our little family needed a break. Nathan and I also wanted to reward our kids for fabulous grades. Yes, I'm going to take this moment to brag about my kids. They are awesome and their teachers just love them. My kiddos come home every quarter with high marks. I hope and pray that it will always be this way. I have challenges just like the rest of us, but I'm sure grateful for my life.

We left Sunday evening and headed up to Mount Princeton to stay the night and enjoy the natural hot springs and pools. Oh, how I love this place! Nathan and I went a couple years ago, just the two of us for our anniversary. Nathan went last year with his brothers for a snowboarding trip. This just might have to be a yearly getaway.

We visited the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument on the way home. We made a few other stops on the way home. Now, back to life, back to reality...bummer!

October gone with a blink of an eye....

Is October really over? I think I'm still in denial! We had so much stuff going on the week of Halloween, it was crazy busy. We did all our traditional Halloween fun before Halloween. Carving pumpkins, cooking pumpkin seeds, dinner in a pumpkin, ect.

The kids had fun at our annual Church fall festival with, chili cook off, carnival games, and trunk or treat on Saturday. I have to say I vote for Halloween to always be the last Saturday in October, but I'm not sure anyone of importance would listen or agree with me.  We had an average day on Sunday. We went to church and then had our regular sabbath day. Our neighbors did invite us over last minute to eat a surplus of dinner they had. Then we went trick-or-treating (I know, gasp). Oh how my kiddos enjoyed going to their neighbors houses and seeing them. A few of them buy special treats for the neighborhood kids. We had a fabulous evening as a family! Good-by October...hello November.

McCrary Family Pictures

I love family pictures, after they are finished! The fretting over what everyone is going to wear takes weeks of planning, for me anyway! Worring about how the children will behave and smile and look!
Becki Madsen Photography did an amazing job. It also helps that she is my one of my best friends of all time! More pictures to come!

IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene

Brad and Thia

My Brother-In-Law Brad has been training hard for months to complete his first Ironman. I have the awesome opportunity to be there! I have heard from my sisters that being part of an ironman is just incredibly amazing. I'm leaving on friday.....beyond excited!

Brad's bib number is 1419. Go to ironman.com and click on race day coverage. Then click on athlete tracker and search by bib number or name. There should be a swim split (2.4miles), a couple of bike splits (112 miles) and a couple of run splits (26.2 miles). He is hoping to finish in about 11 hours. Our day starts at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday June 27th!

Good Luck Brad!!!!
