ADT Half Marathon

Not sure why I had such a weird look on my face. I was so excited to see my family. The kids started to run with me (one of the best feelings ever). I think I had less than a 1/2 mile to go. Don't you love my fanny pack hanging on my bum. It was the most comfortable there.
Waving at my awesome family
Yes, you are seeing the time right. This was my slowest half marathon so far(I did zero speed work this summer). I did a couple long runs before the race, but I didn't do a whole lot of training for it. It was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to run it, but my focus was the ascent and I had to make a decision after I conquered the mountain. My sister-in-law laughed when I told her that I decided to run the ADT half, she said "I knew you would do it". Yes, I'm addicted to half marathons. My next one will be the Pueblo Rock Canyon in December.
Trinette, Becky, Heather, and Megan

I really enjoyed this race. I ran a slow pace and it felt great. Running fast just doesn't feel good. Sometimes I get too caught up in my times and worry about my pace that I don't enjoy it as much as I should. I will never be first place in a race, but if I'm number one in my kids eyes that's all that should matter. I don't like being a slow poke, but hey at least I'm getting out there. Since Teva was born I have ran 4 half marathons going on 5, 1 marathon, the Pikes Peak Ascent and countless 5 and 10k's. I love to run even though I'm not a runner, so to speak.

Way to go! I say if you are happy going the pace you are at - then why worry about speed? It's more fun when it's enjoyable right? :0)

Your kids are so cute and sweet. I really miss you guys sometimes! Rosie and I say all the time that we shoulda found us a couple Colorado boys to marry! (Though, I did try - I dated an awful lot of them . . .)

How are you not a RUNNER? What in the world?! Look at you, girl!! And to pick up a half marathon without really training for it specifically and still do it in less than 2.5 hours is awesome! You are an inspiration!
