Family Update

Grace is turning 8 in just a week in a half. She is so excited for her upcoming Birthday and Baptism. She will be starting spring soccer and is loving life right now.
Olivia is enjoying her new contact. She has a perfect right eye, but a really bad left eye. She is lucky to only have to put in one contact. She learned very quickly and has been responsible.
Olivia is looking forward to starting Volleyball!
Teva has been a real trooper during my surgery recovery. All my kids have though. Teva loves to have me pick her up and hold her. She learned real quickly that mom could not pick her up. She adapted by asking me to hug her. We now work together and I get on my knees and we hold each other.
We were at walmart and Aivan was sitting in the cart because he said his stomach was bothering him (we didn't realize he was really sick at this point). Next thing, he told Grace to move because he was going to throw up. Grace was standing at the end of the cart. Nathan and I were amazed that our 5 year old son thought about his sister at that moment. It would have ended up all over her. Embarrassing having him throw up at the self check out line at walmart. Aivan fell asleep holding his puke bucket. Bless his heart, he was such a trooper during his bout of stomach flu.

Nathan had fun racing in the Chilly Cheeks Duathlon up in Denver. There were 3 races and he won the overall in the fat tire division and won all three races . He froze his cheeks off on Saturday. The race series started back in January. No wonder it is called the chilly cheeks!
We are beyond blessed to live in a time and place where Medical Surgeries are advanced and result in quicker and healthier recovery's (laparoscopic partial hysterectomy). My mother had this same surgery in her thirty's like me (she had uterine cancer), so about thirty years ago and she had a huge incision and it was stapled together. Yikes! I'm grateful for all the love and support I recieved from friends and family. It is amazing how people just step up and help without being asked. The dinners, flowers, cards, phone calls, text messages and survival kit were awesome! I can't run for 4 weeks and can't lift weights for 6 weeks-big bummer! I have had some ups and downs, but I'm doing great. I'm thankful for this surgery and it will result in a better life for me.

Your kids are all adorable. You have such a neat family. I am sorry I never got anything to you or helped in any way. I had no clue you were having surgery until after the fact. You know I would love to help at any time. I hope the recovery goes well for you.
