Boots!

Olivia and Grace are earning these beautiful black boots. My girls have always loved my black boots that I wear to church. I thought they would make a great Christmas present, but let's face it December is still a long time away. Grace went to church on Sunday with her church sandals because that is all we had for her to wear and the weather was horrible. I felt terrible that she went to church in open toed shoes. Grace kept eyeing my black boots. I made a trip to target yesterday and found these darling boots for ugh-20 dollars a piece. I'm not great at math but I do know that it equals 40 dollars. In my mind this was a luxury for my girls, (I could have got regular church shoes for cheaper) so I decided they are going to earn the boots. I figured this is a great learning experience. They are working hard to earn them by Sunday. They are cleaning and organizing the basement and the game closet. Work hard my sweet girls. They know it is worth it in the end.

So fun! My mom always wore clogs when I was kid and my sister and I always wanted a pair of our own too, but with the heels on them she was cautious and we had to be old enough to get them. One reason why having girls is great, none of my boys want my shoes after the age of 3. :)

I love my black boots too and have to go and buy my girls some too, what a great idea to make them work for it!

Aww - what sweet hardworking girls! I hope they earn them and enjoy them immensely this Sunday! You'll have to take a picture of them wearing them. :0)

I have been on the hunt for those boots. When they first came out, I called them hooker boots, because everyone wore them with short skirts. Now I see them all over on people, and they look adorable. I like the ones with the bigger heel, just like the ones you have pictured. You are such a great mom! Your girls are very lucky.

I need to bite the bullet and get my girls boots too. I do believe my girls had open toed sandals on as well last Sunday.

okay, I'm SO glad you posted this...

landon has been begging me for Star Wars sheets for his bed for the past year. It's a queen size bed and I can't find any for less than 100 bucks. He has to earn half the money, (to earn it all would take him until he's 12!)

I told a friend he was earning his sheets and she looked at me like, "what?! you're making him WORK for his bedding?"

Thanks for making me know I'm not the only mom out there who wants their kids to be happy and have what they want but doesn't want to over indulge them.
