The truth comes out!

Since the Ascent is over and my next race is just a couple weeks away(the ADT half marathon) I have had some time to ponder about my health and the shape I'm in. I'm not happy at all. I don't typically like to be a blog complainer, but I thought this might give me some motivation. The truth comes out, I have gained 10 pounds since I moved to our new house last October. Hmmm, the question is why? I run and try to stay in shape, but I obviously consume more than I am exerting. It has been an adjustment for my family this past year. I know we just moved from in town, but we had been in our old ward for 8 years. It is hard being a mother when it comes to food. I'm always around food, planning food, cooking food, baking food, thinking about food and grocery shopping. Ugh, food!! Starting Monday August 24th my eating habits will change and my goal is to loose 14 pounds by Thanksgiving. Kind of funny that it is Thanksgiving, but I want to loose before the holiday season arrives. Wish me luck. Anyone else up for the challenge?

Don't forget - muscle weighs more than fat. :0)

Thinking how far I have to go to get back to anything resembling my former "glory days" is too depressing.

Good wishes to you!

Geez. I think you look fantastic!! Good luck, though. Don't use any of my recipes. They are too caloric. Stay away from sticky corn! Bring it over to me instead.

YES!!! I am going to steal your ticker thingy! I have been loosing weight, albeit very slowly, I have 10 weeks until the marathon...1 lb a week, I will be at my goal weight...pretty much by then, plus how much easier to run 26.2 10 lbs lighter!!

You do look great, Trinette! Sometimes I think training actually does make you gain weight, I have found that to be true for me too. But it's healthy weight, not fat weight. So take it easy on yourself!

I second what everyone else says about muscle weighing more than fat. You look great, and you have such a cute athletic little body. At least you can run when you feel fat, I just feel fat and sit here feeling fat. ;)
