Olivia is always so willing to help out with the little ones and around the house. She is working towards becoming a babysitter. Olivia is sooo excited to become a certified babysitter when she turns 11(it is a babysitting training class that can be taken through the red cross). She will be turning 10 in October. I know it seems so far away, but it really isn't. It just seems like yesterday she was born. She will be babysitting before we know it. I have been letting her practice a little more with Teva. I try not to take advantage of my children that way. I still believe children need to be children and not always taking care of their younger siblings.
A couple of weekends ago I had a hair appointment and Nathan was working on his car with his father(the car that would have been considered total, because it would not be worth fixing, but in my Husbands eyes it is). We asked Olivia to take care of Teva inside the house while mom was gone and Dad was busy. Nathan told her he would take her to get something special at the store (Olivia picked out mechanical pencils she needed for school, she is so practical) later on. While Olivia was in charge she picked up the house, cleaned the kitchen, made beds and picked up rooms, changed a poopy diaper, took out the trash, and organized the downstairs bookshelf. She was never asked to do those things. She was in charge, so she just did the things that she knew mom would do. Thanks Olivia, you are the best big sister your siblings could ever have.

Wow, I wish I had some small children so she could come over and "practice" at our house.
Yo Trinette - Olivia can come over here to babysit all she wants. Even at 9 she puts my 12 and almost 15 year old to shame! :0)
Love the picture at the end too - she looks so grown up with her big girl glasses. Ugh, means I am getting old all my little nieces and nephews look more like big kids and less like the babies I remember them as.
Maybe she can come and teach McKay how to babysit! She is such a cutie.
What a great big sister! And a helper for you. I love that she did all those things that needed doing. Very cool, very grown-up. And I hope Grace's birthday was a good one! She is such a lovely girl! I completely agree...girls need sisters, I have one and I don't know what I would have done without her growing up, or what I would do without her now!
Sweet Olivia reminds me of Thia, when she was that age. The first girl and being the oldest just seems to be such a good mommy and
babysitter at a younger age. "You go girl".
She will be a fantastic babysitter! Well done, Olivia!
