The big question of the Day. Do I sign up for the Pikes Peak Accent? I have to make a decision by March 11 (that is the day to sign up). I have time, but it is on my mind.
Nathan running the Pikes Peak Accent in August 2008. Yes, this was in August. The weather was awful, and the worst weather in Accent history. More than half of the runners had to be turned around because of weather. Nathan made it up in 3hours and 8 minutes. Incredible!!! The weather should hopefully be better in August 2009, but what if it is bad? I would dread it. Do I want to run/hike a half marathon up pikes peak? What do you think?

If it were me - NO WAY JOSE! But, I am like that. :0) You would probably be glad you did it - even if you did end up in a blizzard. Especially once it was over!
I hiked up the Peak with a 40lb pack on my back for my 4th year hike. We got to treeline and the sun beat upon us frying us all to a crisp. Then, we got to the top of the 16 golden steps or whatever and things weren't so golden as we got snowed on! This was July right around the Hill Climb.
Probably won't be as ugly as the assent Nathan did, that is a bit atypical - but, you never know! It is usually always cold at the top though . . . :0)
Sue Graham across the street from mom and dad McCrary does it - or at least did frequently.
Trinette, I know you and if you put your mind to something you always accomplish it. So if it is something you want to experience and say you did then do it and I will be there cheering for you (I just won't do it with you YET)
That is insane! Is it even physically possible to run that marathon in that weather in barely over 3 hours?!!!! Perhaps he was just in a hurry to get it over with! I didn't realize Nathan was such a machine!
If you want to do it, I will be cheering for you and you will certainly be on my hero list. But would I do it, (assuming I COULD), no way!
Wow, Trinette. Seriously though, if you do do it, I want to be there, so let me know.
