Allergen Immunotherepy

Fancy word for allergy shots.

NOT

I have allergic rhinitis and asthma. I will never forget the day I was a little girl and went to the allergy doctor and my back was on fire. The on "fire" part was my reaction to the weeds, trees, molds, dust mites, ect. I have been on medicine ever since. Thankfully my asthma has been controlled for a few years now. I have had some scary experiences with not being able to breath. I have year round allergies, but this time of year is just awful for me. I wish I could just live in a bubble, really!

The only answer for me all these years is the allergy shots. These little babies take 4 to 6 years and the first several months you go twice a week. Of course you have to wait 30 minutes to make sure you don't have a sever reaction. I started the shots back when I only had two kiddos, then I was pregnant with my third. After Aivan was born I was called to a really big calling (position) in my church. I stopped the shots because my plate was full.

Well, for my record anyway. I'm finally taking care of me and hoping, wishing, crossing my fingers that this is an answer to my prayers. I have the faith that I'm on my way to a healthier me even though it will take years and a huge time commitment to finally feel a difference.
