I have a lovely neighbor named Mary. They will be moving in the spring time and I'm beyond sad. We lucked out having them as our neighbors. Anyway, onto the yumminess of this post. Once and a while she grants us with a yummy treat. Banana bread, cookies, special k bars, left over cheese and crackers. Of course she has been blessed with our goodies too. We love to share! I have never asked her for the Special K bar recipe, because I always thought to myself, do I really want this recipe in my house-ugh. I finally broke down and asked her. I needed to take a treat to a new sister I visit in my church. I thought I would share the recipe that may not be nice to my thighs!
Mary's Special K Bars
1 cup sugar
1 cup karo Syrup
3/4 cup peanut butter
7 cups Special K Cereal
1 cup choc. chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
Heat sugar and Karo syrup in microwave for 1 minute, stir and heat for another minute. Stir in peanut butter and mix with cereal. Spread into 9x13 pan. Melt choc. chips and butterscotch chips. Spread over cereal mixture. Enjoy!
