Wow! I can't believe how busy we have been. I was down loading pictures and realized how long it has been since I updated my blog. I'm so thankful for my busy life right now. I'm thankful for my awesome friends and family that love me, support me, and include me in their life.
Nathan and his racing buddy Kevin before the Pikes Peak Ascent. Nathan rocked it at a time of 3:18. He was actually bummed and did not have a great race. His goal time was under 3 hours.
Back to school
We made back to school cupcakes and had a party the Friday before school started. We played a fun game where I had pencils attached to prizes. The only way they could go find their next prize is if they answered important questions. For example; phone numbers, addresses, math facts, spelling, ect.

Miss Teva looks happy now, but you should have seen her when the kids got on the Bus. She looked at me with a sad face and ran to me and said "Mom"? We came inside and cried! Teva starts preschool in Septemember so it won't be as hard on her to be the only one at home.

Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe he did it just over 3 hours! I am utterly impressed. Sorry he didn't reach his goal time. I know how frustrating that is when you work so hard and you miss it by that much. I'm still impressed, though.
And to answer your question, I only ran 14.9 miles, and I have no idea what my average pace was. My legs of the race were not the longest, but Emily told me when we first signed up that she wanted me to be runner 12 and take our team across the finish line. She said, "I don't know what it is but when you get to the end of the race you hit your stride and you kick it out at the end." I did have to run 2 very hot legs, though.
One of these days you should really try one of those relay races. It's amazing how you have to take all of your hard work, training, and rules about running and throw them out the window. You eat, sleep, and run at such unusual hours that you just have to go with the flow. It's fun, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat just to have the experience again.
Mmmm...we love love loved the cupcakes. What kind of icing was that. I think I could have eaten it straight off the spoon!
