Woodland Park Mayor's Cup

Last Saturday we went to Woodland Park for the Mayor's Cup Race. The kids raced for free, and after the Race they played at the park while I ran for an hour (I didn't want to spend the money to run in the race).

Posing before their big Race.

Aivan talking on his cell phone.

Teva running, right hand side.

Teva waiting for her ribbon.

Grace running.

Olivia running, she past a boy at the end and came in third.

Aivan crying and running.

Poor Aivan, he was so excited to race. He started out great and some boys behind him bull dozed over him right after the race started. He fell hard and scraped his knee. I picked him up and made him run to the finish. Hey, I was teary eyed for him, but we all have to learn to get back up when we fall. The fire fighter bandaged him up. Next time we won't be in front of the pack. We will start from behind. This is a hard age group, they don't really know how to maneuver themselves.

How fun! I bet the kids loved it (minus the knee scratch, darn!). But like you said, you've got to get back up and keep running!

Those mean boys! I think that is awesome all your kids raced! Hopefully my kids will be into that!

Awwww poor Aivan! Looks like the kids had fun!

I need to find stuff like that for the kids to do here. MO is not as big a "fitness" state as CO is.
