100 Days to read the Book of Mormon.

My sweet family seems to be a little overwhelmed with this idea. We have been reading the scripture stories with pictures for a long time. I thought we needed to combine all their school reading time with the Scriptures. To get this done in 100 days we need to read about 3 chapters a day. It works out great because we end on Teva's birthday December 7th. I found this fabulous chart that calculated it for us. Click here to see. I just love technology these days. Oh how I love the Internet. Growing up we didn't have a computer in our home. The first time I saw a computer in a home was my best roommate in College Jeanne had one in our apartment. No, she was not my best roommate because she had a computer, I loved her anyway. I really want my children to develop a love for the scriptures. I'm thankful for the testimony I have of the restored gospel. I'm looking forward to hearing my children's testimony develop through the years. What do you do as a family for scripture study? I love to hear other's fabulous ideas.

I think that is an awesome goal!! Go McCrary's!! Dan and I read a chapter together every night and then memorize a scripture...trying to become scriptorians :) or at least be able to recall important scriptures at the right time!

What a great goal! Hmmm, maybe we will have to incorporate this one. We read the picture stories too for family scripture reading, but with Zach we read a few verses from his BOM too. Have fun with this!

We have been going through the Gospel Art Picture BOOKLET. It's new. The front of the book has the scriptures that correspond to the pictures. I will admit that I'm awful some nights and try to find the shortest passage that I can. The little girls hold up the picture from the book as we read. I think that I'm going to have to use your idea here in a few years.

I read from the Book of Mormon every day while the kids eat breakfast. I'll read a few verses and then explain what's going on and ask questions. When the kids were littler, sometimes we would say words aloud and have the kids repeat - they loved that. And now Zach and Tyler take turns reading a few verses at a time.
